No, but it's been suggested that *major* (replacing wikitext entire with XML is 'major') structural changes be made to MediaWiki *which would likely make things harder for Wikipedia, for the benefit of those non-WMF users of MW.
It's been said before (check the archives) that changes in that category just aren't gonna hunt.
