Yes. But do you know what actually will happen? You edit a long text
with some of this browsers, click on the tag-icon, nothing happens
(seemingly), you continue editing, and in the end, at the end of the
text some silly tags are inserted ... every newbie with a not fully
functional browser according to the MS specification (sorry for the
polemics here) will do this at least once -- instead of learning the
tags. Why not just disable it on these browsers, too?

I think I did understand it. And I think it's better to talk now about
it (doing it here instead of Village Pump because of server slowness)
instead of being sorry afterwards. After the implementation it will be
whining, yes. But at the moment it's a discussion about a proposed new
feature, which doesn't work correctly on all browsers. And calling a bug
a feature doesn't help.

So, why not find a solution where the fancy editing is by default
enabled on browsers where the code works correctly, only, and disabled
on every other browser?
