The COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2008 design & innovation awards

"Technical progress is the basis for all change. Design & innovation are the
competitive edge for the IT products." An international jury of experts
selected 17 winners out of a total of 139 entries for the COMPUTEX TAIPEI
design & innovation award 2008.

COMPUTEX TAIPEI, Asia's biggest IT exhibition has developed into a
specialist show highlighting facts and innovations and providing a
presentation platform for demonstrating technological advances combined with
outstanding design. For the first time, iF International Forum Design GmbH
has acquired the opportunity to commit its entire competence and experience
to supporting COMPUTEX TAIPEI in the traditional and successful form of an
"organized by iF" project.

139 entries from 5 countries were submitted for this debut installment of
the COMPUTEX TAIPEI design & innovation award. A jury of experts selected a
total of 17 winners. Four of these winners will also take home an additional
"Gold award" for outstanding design.

This year the renowned jury, consisting of the following five experts, had
its work cut out for it: Christoph Böninger (brains4design GmbH), Duck Hsieh
(Duck Image Corporation), James Irvine (James Irvine S.r.l.), Kris Verstockt
(Cre8 design studio) and Roger Pin-Si Lin, Nova Design Co., Ltd. The jury
adjudicated 139 entries submitted by 67 contestants from 5 countries,
including several rounds of lively discussion and careful consideration
according to the criteria of Degree of innovation, Design quality,
Workmanship, Choice of materials, Environmental friendliness, Functionality,
Ergonomics, Utility value, Safety, Universal design and Brand
value/Branding.

All prizewinning entries will be displayed in a special display from June 3
to 7, in both Nangang Exhibition Hall 1st floor and TWTC Hall 1 2nd floor at
COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2008, the world's best trade fair for the newest IT concepts
including Communication Products, Components & Parts, Computer systems,
Peripherals, Data Storage Device/Media, Optoelectronic Display Product and
Digital Audio /Video.

The "Gold award" prizewinners will also be announced at the pre-exhibition
press conference at June 2nd, one day before the opening day of the
exhibition, and the winners will be awarded with a special statuette.
