എന്റെ അറിവിൽ ഇത് പീച്ചിങ്ങ തന്നെയാണ്.
ഞങ്ങളുടെ നാട്ടിൽ മുഴുവൻ ഇതിനെ പീച്ചിങ്ങ എന്ന് തന്നെയാണ് പറയുന്നത്.
മറ്റൊരു പേര് പറയുന്നതായും കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല.
മറ്റേത് പച്ചക്കറിയേയും പോലെ മൂത്ത് വരുമ്പോൾ പറിച്ച് കറിവെക്കുന്നു.

പ്രശാന്ത് പറഞ്ഞത് പോലെ ...

*പണ്ടുകാലത്ത് കായ ഉണങ്ങുമ്പോള്‍ ഈ ചകിരിക്കൂട് പോലുള്ള ഭാഗം പുറംതോല്‍ മാറ്റിയ
ശേഷം കഷണങ്ങള്‍ ആക്കി ഒരു 'Scrubber' പോലെ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നു.*

അങ്ങനെ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതായും കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ വലരെ ചുരുക്കം മാത്രം.
