 Hi Wikipedians,
Wikipedia Academies are public outreach events aimed at engaging academics,
other subject-matter experts and anyone else who are not familiar with
Wikpedia/ wiki culture or online communities. In presentations and
workshops, experienced Wikipedia authors teach the participants how to
contribute to Wikipedia and orient the audience to Wikipedia’s structures
and community policies.

Academies have been happening in India since some time, unofficially, thanks
to the humble efforts of many wikipedians.

Under the aegis of Bangalore Wikipedians, we recently had Sanskrit Wikipedia
Academy

The next academy session is on Malayalam Wikipedia
Date: 21 March 2010, 4 PM
Venue: Centre for Internet and Society, Cunningham Rd, Bangalore.
