OK, not that paying $$$ and travelling to Tassie is a very effective
way to hear Angela talk -- probably just going to a Sydney meetup, or
prodding her on Skype, would do -- but if you need an excuse... :)

cheers

Subject: [lca-announce] Linux.conf.au Announces Keynotes for 2009
To: lca-announce <lca-announce at lists.linux.org.au>

The Linux.conf.au 2009 organising team today announced the three
keynote speakers that will be presenting at next year's Linux.conf.au.
"We expect this mix of keynotes will be the perfect entree into each
day of the conference," said LCA09 organiser, Ben Powell. "Every LCA
so far has had great keynotes, and Tasmania '09 is no different."

The speakers are: internationally recognised author, speaker and
systems administrator, Tom Limoncelli; co-founder of Wikia and Chair
of the Wikimedia Foundation Advisory Board, Angela Beesley; and Chief
Open Source Officer at Sun Microsystems, Simon Phipps.

The keynote speakers will be presenting the opening talks on each day
of the main conference, before delegates disperse to enjoy the wide
selection of presentations available. "We chose keynotes who will have
wide appeal to all attending, and we expect delegates will leave these
sessions feeling inspired," said Mr. Powell. "We hoped to set the tone
of the conference by our keynotes, and with our keynote lineup now
finalised, we feel we've achieved that goal. We are delighted to have
Tom, Angela, and Simon involved."

Linux.conf.au, the National Linux Conference, will be held January
19-24 in Hobart at the University of Tasmania. More information about
linux.conf.au can be found at http://www.linux.conf.au.
