No one has said they are. Although if I were to be  brutal I could say 
that Jaron Lanier pointed out that Linux is a replica of a OS that was 
developed commercially 40 years ago. And well WP is repetition of 
something that Pliny created almost 2000 years ago.

The main point though is that if you forked off an encyclopedia that was 
simply about OSS and free content, which was sourced entirely from free 
content it wouldn't be something that a whole load of people would be 
interested in.
