Answer came in the annual plan: «Product and Engineering will be split 
into two departments, to bring additional leadership strength to the
organization and to rebalance the senior team so one person doesn’t need 
to represent both disciplines. We
will invest further staffing resources in both areas, especially in 
historically under-resourced domains (data
analysis and analytics support, design, operations support for projects, 
security engineering, and
community support). This will enable our core engineering projects to 
launch more quickly and at a higher
level of quality in the future than resources have allowed to date.»
