We reached a consensus agreement that the Board needed to be expanded,
and that the majority of the Board should be community members. Rather
than immediately hold a new election in November, it seemed preferable
to make use of the 2006 election results to make two immediate
appointments (with very short terms, mind you).

Of course it would have been better if the Board had added those two
seats already before the 2006 election, but the path we chose seemed
to be the second best possible outcome.

I have not. The simple fact is that the Board has acted as a "working
Board" for about half a year. It would not be appropriate and legally
dangerous for me to discuss publicly the circumstances of Brad's and
Danny's resignations, conflicts on the staff level, and so forth. If I
have been re-elected, I hope the expected shift of the Board's role to
strategic matters and the stabilization of the organization will allow
me to instigate public discussions more frequently.
