WHAT IS THE ARTICLE LIKE?

The article is quite well developed but with some flaws, such as
inappropriate lead, sections unbalanced, overall length, cleanup tags,
references need completion etc. Large parts of the article appear
well-written but would need an experienced copy-editor to go over the final
product.

WHAT WILL THE ARTICLE BE JUDGED BY?

The Good Article criteria are well defined and given in link below.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Good_article_criteria *(Please read
this in detail)

*WHAT ELSE IS RELEVANT?

If you look at the article talk page banners and click the "show" button
next to the article milestones, we can see the history of the article.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Mohandas_Karamchand_Gandhi

   - The article became a Featured Article by the criteria of that period
on 22 January 2005. This was very relaxed compared to today's standards.
   - It underwent a Featured Article Review in June 2005 and was kept.
   - It underwent a peer review on 17 February 2006 and was improved vide
   the points.
   - It underwent a Featured Article Review in January 2009 and was
   demoted. (url:
   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Featured_article_review/Mohandas_Karamchand_Gandhi/archive1)
The chief causes of concern were:
      - Sources improvement & cleanup to satisfy Verifiability.
      - Lead improvement
      - Structure of sections.
      - Image review.
   - It appears to have been renominated for GA on 9 May 2011 and failed by
TonyTheTiger. Revie comments are at url:
   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Mohandas_Karamchand_Gandhi/GA1. These
will be the comments that we will have to resolve before we can even put it
   up for GA.

See

Fowler&fowler were those major contributors who contributed recently. These
people will be amongst our biggest well-wishers.

In addition, a number of Project Editors such as AroundTheGlobe &
Karthikndr have begun editing it. We are fellow editors with them in this
venture.

TASK

   1. Read GAC as already mentioned above.
   2. Read the failed FA Review & the failed GA Review.
   3. In reply to this, please reply on this thread and say what are the
points you feel need improving and what is the best way to resolve them.
   Time:Till *tomorrow evening 1900 hours*.

Warm regards,
