Interesting claim. The counter would be that admins are the better
engineers and a man may indeed profit by the sweat of his brow.

Nah communist party would advocate that everyone gets it as soon as
they want it while the reality would be that it would only be
available after standing in line for several hours.

Both models break down since they assume that they are not dealing
with a post scarcity situation (which for the average user wikipedia
is at least on a day to day basis).

In practice "admin" is as close to an approximation of "long standing
wikipedian" that can be done with little use of server resources,
