This thread seems to completely mix up notability and verifiability.
The two are not the same, and only verifiability was meant to be
policy, not notability.

However, articles that are completely verifiable and well-sourced are
still deleted purely on terms of notability.

http://australia.wikia.com/wiki/Rofe_Park is one example I think of
every time I drive past it. A heritage-listed park with 6 references.
