As an aside, someone once suggested (and I think coded up a
demonstration) for "hiding" vandal usernames - they'd be quietly
removed from history pages, etc, and marked as [vandal] or [blocked
user] the like. The main reason to do this was to avoid all the cruft
on Special:Listusers, but it could help here...
