Nope. If a post is held, you get an email saying it's in the queue.

The only reason I know for an unmoderated member to have a message
held is if the message is over 10,000 characters long. I also set it
so that messages with too high a score from the spam detector are just
discarded, but no-one's told me of a message being eaten from that.
