Especially for an electronic encyclopedia with a search function. One
can't even claim that the "important" information gets lost in the
"clutter".
It's not like anyone is going to sit down and try reading Wikipedia
cover-to-cover. People look for specific information, even if only by
clicking links that catch their eye while browsing.
