This argument is not valid. Significance of a particular item of
information cannot be judged based upon the number of papers which run
with the story. There are many factors which influence whether a
newspaper reports an item of information, regardless of its factual
accuracy and significance. Perhaps the most important of these factors
is that almost all newspapers have a political point of view which
influences the perceived significance of some information.
