Have you talked to the Devs about this? they may not be too happy
about that spreading across projects (I also can't get the equivalent
system for buildings to work at the moment which suggests the uselang
system has some features I don't know about)

That was unusual. There are various activities in place that should
reduce the chance of this happening in future.
