Actually, Jimbo's authority fairly often translates into the OPPOSITE  
of people deferring -- as this particulat instance illustrates. If  
someone other than Jimbo had made this particular edit, no one would  
have considered it significant enough to be discussing on wikien-l.  
No one sees much point in rebelling against just another commoner,  
but if the king does something you don't like, you're more likely to  
call for revolution.
