Sure, but consider this... in your position of responsibility, you 
credentials are basically meaningless and I can't think of any reason 
why we should care.  You got your important role in the community for 
community skills as proven in practice.

That's a bit different from the case of someone who might want to list 
their credentials on their user page, and who would not mind those 
credentials being verified for the good of the project and as a point of 
personal pride.

I think we can keep the two issues separate: knowing who people are if 
they are in positions of trust is interesting and important, but quite 
different in some important ways from the issue of stating credentials.
