My pipe dream is to tie it into a status system - for every 1,000 edits 
in article space, you get to add one userbox.

Or one could get a little nasty, and publish ratios of user page editing 
vs article space editing, give out a "Most Useless Wikipedian" award to 
the person at the top of the list.
