They're not editing as a number. Remember that for a long time we
obscured the leading digits of IP addresses when displaying non-logged
in edits. Are those edits not properly credited? Going down this line
of reasoning rapidly leads to silliness.

It's not higher than I think. I'm pretty cognizant of how Wikipedia functions.

I would love it if those who profess to care about pure GFDL
compliance would do something about restoring the lost edit histories
in the 2001-2002 period of a large number of entries.
