So long as they remain only default guidelines, that's one thing - but
many, I among them, have problems with the general applicability of
WP:MUSIC, especially outside the genres of English-language popular

I remain extremely sceptical about how good an idea such things are,
and about the advisability of extending such an idea any more widely.

They do, at least, provide a way of defending the notability of an
article, and thus overriding the "nn never heard of them" opinions. I
like such mechanical rules better if they are interpreted as "any
subject that meets these guidelines can be considered automatically
notable" rather than "If a subject fails these tests it's
automatically Not Notable". The latter permits no special cases.
