No it doesn't. Anyone can still edit if you have to sign up and wait.
Not that I'm proposing such a thing, but it doesn't remove the
'anyone can edit'.

I would suggest you stop blowing hot air. Your statement above is
exactly the sort of hysteria that is counter productive. If you have
a material complaint related to how a proposed change would harm our
ability to make a free content encyclopedia, make it.. otherwise spare
us the drama of "misleading and false".

Oh? Your recent posts (which I read but mostly do not respond to) have
caused me to conclude otherwise.
If you'd like to operate a fork where the ability to edit is placed
above all concerns of quality, stability, or morality, I'd be glad to
help you. I'd offer to provide hosting too but I wouldn't want any
part of the legal liability for such a site. :)
