Nukipedia?  Err, perhaps not, though ...

On the main point, I'd say the 'debate' about WP approximating academic
standards gets played out daily and online.  From where I sit, it's mostly
about retaining the expertise that comes to edit, rather than expecting
things to happen by fiat.
