Well, here's something heartening to think about.

If you are _not_ a Wikipedian and have _not_ been following wikien-l 
and have _not_ been watching the page and checking the page history...

...and you go to [[DNA]]...

...what you will read there is a perfectly respectable article that 
would not be out of place in any encyclopedia, well-written, complete, 
accurate as far as I can judge, garnished with two decent 
illustrations...

...and a strange, baffling little notice at the top.

Please don't ask me how such a good result can occur as the result of 
such a chaotic and unpleasant process.
