Well, Magnus seemed to think I didn't have enough reasons on behalf of a
list, versus a category, in the stated case of [[list of astronomical
topics]].

I wouldn't claim to have figured out the category system entirely yet.
Another point that would interest me is this: the page history of a list
page would show what had been added (and by whom) and what removed; and in
the case of changes that I didn't like, I could revert them.  The page
history of a category page does something different, it seems.
