Is there any statistics on how often this happens?  How many new 
accounts are registered on an average day, how many articles are 
created by new users, how many such articles are speedily deleted, 
and how many of the new users stay to make more than five or ten 
edits? This discussion is full of statements of how it is, but I 
haven't seen any numbers.
