why do you think that you can use 1/8 of the memory of the server alone? We 
have a lot more then 8 users so it makes me wonder, how 1 user thinks he can 
use 1/8 and the other few dozenth the rest.
I guess the solution for your problem is clear: Rewrite your tool that it 
doesn't use memory-tables but real db-tables (InnoDB or MyISAM). That should 
you tool keep running and let the other users keep their fair share of memory.
