hi,

zedler (the s2 and /home NFS server) was rebooted for maintenance.  this might
improve the slow NFS performance seen recently on the login server.  the outage
time was approximately 15 minutes.

additionally, we are testing NFSv4 instead of NFSv3 for /home on wolfsbane (the
web server).  if this shows no problems, we will deploy it on nightshade as
well.  again, NFSv4 should improve NFS performance for users.
