I can report the status from my point of view as org admin:

* The proposal says mentions "Amire E Aharoni , James Forrester and
the Quality
Assurance team" as mentors, but in Google Melange no mentor has signed up
for this project. Without mentors, there is no GSoC project.

* The related entry at
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code_2014 doesn't link to
any microtask, which is a requirement to be selected. The proposal does
mention some bug reports, but, going to the previous point, there is no
mentor to evaluate whether those bugfixes are enough proof of the skills
and collaboration style of the candidate.

In other words, someone needs to step in to mentor this candidate,
otherwise he will not make it to GSoC even if his part of the work is
excellent. Interested mentors are welcome, including experienced QA
contributors with no experience mentoring. See
