Commonscat.py should ignore the case of the first letter: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Angel&diff=prev&oldid=445385375

It should also ignore trailing spaces at the end of the template: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=AIGA&diff=prev&oldid=451683414

And underscores: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=AIGA&action=historysubmit&diff=451687457&oldid=451687400

Sorry for the slow reply. 
I am using "python commonscat.py -lang;en -checkcurrent" for this. 

The same errors seem present in your test page:

The trailing space that was removed at the end of the template does
nothing - the Commons link on either side of the diff works the same; it's
a pointless edit.
