I have a similar problem with update.php, which led to the fact that after update to
1.23.1, I had to skip Semantic Wiki and all similar extensions (which I used only on a few
pages).
The problem in my case turned out to be an incompatibility of my host's PHP 5.5, which
does not understand PCRE 7.2 and higher
(
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Errors_and_symptoms/PCRE). So I have to wait until
they update everything (and I wait for one year now, the host is a university...).
Not sure, whether this is the same problem as Ad's, but anyway MW- and SMW-gurus
probably should notice this (otherwise they do a great job, though. The fault, in this
case seems to be with changed PERL, PCRE requirements, if I got that correctly).
Best wishes
Bernhard

Betreff: [MediaWiki-l] Upgrade to 1.24.2 fails because extension doesn't recognize
version number
Hi,
Trying to upgrade from 1.19 to 1.24.2 on a Windows machine.
When running update.php I get a message from Validator that the MW version does not meet
the requirements because it must be 1.16 or higher.
Does anybody know what is going on and what should be done to do the upgrade?
Thanks!
Ad
