0. Has anyone else tried this?
Doubt it, cool kids usually run off git master:P
1. How hard is it to set up MediaWiki to run in HHVM?
(is there a
handy guide on mediawiki.org?)
It boils down to setting up HHVM to run MediaWiki, otherwise no difference
from a MW POV *for a basic setup*.
2. What should I expect if I try to run 1.23 on HHVM?
That it will not work: while HHVM tries to maintain a 100%, we had to fix
various issues in MW to make the transition happen. How serious will be the
problems with 1.23 is hard to tell, but I expect at least some.
3. We have fiddly custom extensions, so what I'll
probably do is
convert to 1.23 on Zend mod_php, make sure everything's behaving,
*then* convert to HHVM. Just how good is HHVM's PHP coverage? What
should I expect? I understand it's really very good ...
Some PHP extensions aren't implemented in HHVM, or their implementation is
subpar. What of this applies to you? Only trying it will answer this, I'm
afraid.
