Sorry, I think my answer is not an answer at all ;-)

- a wiki page name is generally case sensitive
  but the 1st letter.

- for 1st letter only, special rule ...
  http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgCapitalLinks
  ... apply.
