[Mediawiki-l] Linking to Files on an Intranet

Hello,

 

I've set up MediaWiki on our intranet.  I'd like to be able to link to files
(on a shared network resource) without having to upload them to the wiki
server.  

 

For example, I'd like to be able to link to \\stewie\engineering$\notes.txt
I've tried [\\stewie\engineering$\notes.txt  Notes] and
[file:///\\stewie\engineering$\notes.txt  Notes]  Neither creates the
functionality I'm looking for.
