[Mediawiki-l] How do you enable the search for 3-character (or less) searchstrings?

We had to change the MySQL  configuration:

    set  ft_min_word_len=3 in /etc/my.cnf
    restart (or reload?) mysqld

We have:

    MediaWiki: 1.7.1
    MySQL: 5.0.68

If you have newer software, it might be different for you.
