[Mediawiki-l] display recentchanges on main page?

I bet what he wants to do is make a blog like I did for my Mom,
http://abj.jidanni.org/ . On Main_page I didn't transclude
recentchanges, but instead just gave a link to Special:NewPages marked
"<<< START HERE". I didn't use any extensions, even the ones especially
for blogs. For larger blogs one should probably give in and surrender to
WordPress though, (with its more rambunctious design philosophy (that
was too much for me (e.g., it makes outbound HTTP connections on its
own))).
