[Mediawiki-l] $wgForeignFileRepos

HI
I will configure $wgForeignFileRepos to include remote images of wikipedia 
wiht remote images of commons and wikipedia i need to know if i can do this 
to the Thumbnails only with the obgetive of reduce trafic to internet, it is 
possible??
and want the cache never expire it is possible too???
