[Mediawiki-l] SWF files vs AVI files

I want to upload a video describing how to use our wiki on our website. 
A lot of our users are struggling with it, and are new to it.

What would be the best format to upload it? SWF or AVI?

The filesize SWF is much smaller than the AVI file if I'm not mistaken. 
I also saw that there are extensions on Mediawiki catering for both formats.

Do anyone have any suggestions or experience?
