So to clarify, are you saying the following example applies? 

You have a page named "Foo". 
"Foo" used to contain the content, 
"Foo is an excellent word for programmers to use." 

But now the content is, 
"Foo was originally used by military personnel in combat situations."

And when you search for 'programmers' the page "Foo" is still in your results list?
