[Mediawiki-l] Hide Table of contents or remove headings from it?

Hello,
I have a page with the following content:

Text
==B==
Text
...
==Z==
Text
==more content 1==
Text
==more content 2==
Text
==more content 3==
Text

I want:
-remove A-Z from the table of contents
-or at least collapse the table of contents per default (on this site)

Is this possible? Some other ideas?
