I have set up a small wiki and in general it's working as expected. I
wanted to copy a template from Wikipedia to use on my site. I went to
the page for the template
(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Infobox_Person) and clicked on
[edit this page]. First question: Do I want the whole thing or just the
bits between the includeonly tags?
Down at the bottom of the page is a section that says "Pages transcluded
onto the current version of this page:" with a list of 17 templates
(including the one I'm on, oddly enough). Do I need to get all those in
order for this template to work on my wiki? I assume I'll need to
follow some of these dependencies or will this list cover everything?
I assume I just go to
http://mysite/index.php/Template:Infobox_Person,
click on the link to create a new page and past the code copied from
Wikipedia. Is that right?
Am I missing anything or should that be enough? That's what I
tried and it doesn't seem to have been enough but if it SHOULD be, then
it's operator error.
Sorry for the beginner's question. The documentation for copying
templates from another site is a bit thin.
