[Mediawiki-l] Installation/Configuration Question

Why did you install Java and Tomcat?

Mediawiki is a PHP application, all it needs are the Apache Web  
server. (Note, this is on Apaches web site as "http server"), PHP and  
Mysql.

Tomcat, which requires Java, is a Java Application server, not a PHP  
application server.
