[Mediawiki-l] Unchanging Sidebar - link text is not optional

Hi everybody,

I was having problems with an unchanging sidebar and I had
tried all the remedies illustrated here

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Sidebar#Changes_not_showing_up

but nothing was happening. Out of desperation I tried something
that I didn't expect would work.

Basically this works:

* Departments
** Marketing|Marketing
** Accounting|Accounting

but this doesn't

* Departments
** Marketing
** Accounting

which is strange because the list items are supposed to be links
and standard wikilinks in the form [[link|text]] do not require the text
part.

I just documented this issue on the page in the section

but I wonder if it was mentioned elsewhere or if it's maybe a bug?
