[Mediawiki-l] Extending the user preferences

If you are looking for an extension that does this, take a look at
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:FCKeditor

When you look at installation instructions, it will tell you to modify a
couple of MediaWiki files - this is probably not needed if you just want to
check out preferences. Just install the extension by putting it in
extensions/ directory and adding the necessary line to LocalSettings.php as
per instructions.
