I find namespaces are useful for certain things, but probably not  
what you are thinking of.

I use namespaces for structured information, especially time-indexed.  
For example, I found it useful to have namespaces for  
"Minutes" (meeting notes) with pages named like "20070125". Then we  
added two namespaces called "Events" and "Newsletter" -- each has  
similar page-naming.

So namespaces are how we simulate time-sequential systems (like blogs  
and bulletin boards) without the danger of collisions.

I think for most other purposes, they aren't so useful as an  
organizing method.
