No subject

method of slipping a password and username into an RSS feed URL does
not work. When trying to access a restricted page, instead of bringing
up an automatic dialog box to ask for login information, the wiki will
bring up a web page with a link to the login page. Since the server
isn't directly asking for login info and the web page is not an RSS
feed, RSS readers return the error "no RSS feed found at the specified
URL." Is there any way around this?
I'm using:
MediaWiki: 1.7.1
PHP: 5.1.6 (apache2handler)
MySQL: 4.1.20
