[Mediawiki-l] Special:Newimages - how to set number of images

I'm running MW v1.8.2 and use this on the home page:

Special:Newimages

How do you set the number of images to display? I googled around and  
found this:

{{Special:Newimages[/int]}}

where "int" is the number of new images, but it didn't work; it just  
displayed the code.
