Those are using the SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi extension
(http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi), which
introduces <source></source> tags to help format bits of code and
markup.

The extension is a wrapper around the GeSHi library
(http://qbnz.com/highlighter).
