MediaWiki:Common.js was introduced in MediaWiki 1.9.0; I'm not quite
sure when MediaWiki:Monobook.js was introduced, but it should work in
MediaWiki 1.6.0 upwards.

The support functions used in the common JavaScript to insert new edit
toolbar items wasn't introduced until circa. 1.8.0, but I might be
misremembering this.
